We're Moving

Posted by at

I realize this is a bit late notice, but still feel like it is worth mentioning for those who still might keep up with this blog...we are moving back to the U.S. Specifically, Denver Colorado.

Our feet are set to touch U.S. soil again around the end of April (only a few very short days away)!

Everyday that gets closer to the move, makes it that much harder to leave. We have made some incredible friendships here that I hope to continue even from around the world. The experiences we have had in Australia have been amazing and I would not trade them for anything.

I must thank Jess, my beautiful wife, without whom my life and my time in Australia would not be nearly as enjoyable.

As this door closes for us in Australia, I do believe that we will be back (hopefully frequently) as this country is amazing and offers a lifestyle I can only dream of attaining again.

Moving forward, I do hope to continue to update this blog (after a mild refresh) with our experiences living in Colorado (kind of a reverse culture shock).

Thanks for reading, I know we have been very bad about posting updates.

Singapore

Posted by at

We recently visiting Singapore for a few days on the way to our 10 day adventure in Vietnam. It was great to seem some friends and to explore the city state of Singapore. The best way I can find to describe Singapore is 'Asia-Light'. It has a lot of Asian influence, however still has all the comforts of Western Culture....they have Wendy's for crying-out-loud.

Probably biggest attraction to Singapore is the Shopping (at least it was for Jess). I believe because the weather is so hot and humid, shopping is a form of entertainment which comes with free air conditioning! While the goods didn't seem too expensive, it was also not overly cheap and had a lot U.S. brands throughout.

One of most unique parts of our trip included a visit to a Fish Spa, where small fish eat the dead skin from your lower legs and feet. Admittedly, I would not have gone without the coercion of Jess and Lee. While I am not likely to go again, I am glad to have had the experience.

Here are our photos from the trip to Singapore. Vietnam photos to follow (eventually).

Spotted: Tex Mex Pie

Posted by at

Meat Pie's here in Aussie-land can be fantastic, but this just looks terrible...

From Texas in Australia

The website describes it as "a colorful blend of minced beef, tomatoes, red kidney beans, corn, green capsicum [bell pepper] and spices topped with nacho cheese." I suppose it is no differnt than Taco Bell, but something just isn't right with a Tex-Mex pie.
